About nwapdi
NWapdi's Mission

NWAPDI’s mission is to revolutionize Nigeria’s agricultural sector by empowering women farmers with the knowledge, resources, and support needed to build sustainable agricultural enterprises. We work to break down barriers that have historically limited women’s participation in commercial agriculture while promoting food security and economic growth across Nigeria.

Founded in 2015 by a coalition of agricultural experts and women’s rights advocates, NWAPDI has grown from a small grassroots movement into a nationally recognized organization with over 20 million members across Nigeria. What sets NWAPDI apart is our unique blend of traditional wisdom and modern innovation.

We recognize that Nigerian women farmers possess generations of agricultural knowledge, and we build upon this foundation by introducing sustainable modern practices and technologies.

Our approach ensures that cultural values are preserved while embracing the advantages of contemporary farming methods. What sets NWAPDI apart is our unique blend of traditional wisdom and modern innovation.

Our Key Objectives:

1. Economic Empowerment: Creating pathways for women farmers to transform subsistence farming into profitable agribusinesses.

2. Sustainable Agriculture: Promoting environmentally responsible farming practices that ensure long-term productivity and ecological balance.

3. Technology Adoption: Facilitating access to and training in modern agricultural technologies and techniques.

4. Market Integration: Building robust market linkages and value chains that connect women farmers to local and international markets.

5. Community Development: Fostering leadership and entrepreneurship skills that enable women to become agents of change in their communities.

6. Knowledge Transfer: Establishing platforms for sharing agricultural expertise and best practices among women farmers.
